War in Ukraine

Russia’s war on Ukraine started in 2014, when Ukrainian’s came together during the Euromaidan Protests / Revolution of Dignity to oust pro Russian president Viktor Yanukovych. When Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24th 2022 Ukrainian’s rose up to fight back with determination to protect their identity and territorial integrity. Amid the destruction, displacement and death, Ukrainians demonstrate resilience and resolute desire to distance from Russia’s political and cultural influence. President Zelensky made it clear that Ukraine will not back down from reclaiming the occupied territories (Crimea and Donbas) of Ukraine. While Russia continues to sow terror by launching drone and missiles attacks on civilian targets, Ukraine becomes stronger to embrace the values of freedom, justice, and rule of law – the pillars of liberal democracy.

This ongoing project documents the War in Ukraine.
